In Part I of this blog post, I shared with you the desire for the “new, fresh, and different” approach to life.  Now, I will share with you the steps that may be helpful to you.

"Steps in the Process"
Step 1:  Pause and seek clarity from God. First, you have to stop and ask yourself, “What are the patterns in my life that continue to plague me and prevent me from transforming in this area(s)?” This question should become a part of your prayers, as well.  Ask God to open up your mind and dig out the old, dead weight to reveal to you clearly how you approach life in a patterned way.  He will place a mirror before you.

Step 2:  Create an interruption. Desiring a renewed focus in any area of your life requires an interruption. Renewal generally means to “to begin, take up again”, “resume” (dictionary.com, 2016). This implies an interruption, a stopping point before you start again.  If we are true to ourselves, we have to create a breaking point in our activity and movement in the areas of change we desire, and clear the path for the new.  This entails a variety of things, but for me, it meant separation in my manner of constant contact with people and digesting tons of information from outside sources.  This also meant time to walk and think, observing nature without interruption.

Step 3:  Record your life.  An important part of the transformation is that it happens in stages. Therefore, we must take the time to record events that are a part of our lives.  Journaling and writing are how I choose to do this.  By recording our life events and thoughts, I believe we are demonstrating to God that we believe that He is faithful on our behalf.  I also believe that it is an implied manner of demonstrating that we do expect Him to move on our behalf. We are taking the time to record the journey as He walks with us each step of the way.  Furthermore, our faith is confirmed by our acknowledgment of taking the time to be present and active in our journey.

"True Renewal"
As I continue to clear the path and create those interruptions, a manifestation of true renewal continues to take place.  To the naked eye, this appears almost nonexistent. However, we must remember to have faith that changes are going to take place before they appear.  We must also be free with our acceptance of the resolution, no matter what form it may take. It is at that point that we are able to witness the various surprises God has in store for us.
