Live in Truth. Live in Freedom.

Live in truth.  Live in freedom.

Many times we seek to cover ourselves. We cover our flaws, our mistakes, and our weaknesses. We cover the very parts of ourselves that could help us connect with our fellow brother or sister. Why do we mask the parts that may speak the loudest to those around us? Why do we mask the parts that could provide healing to someone who is walking on the same path that we have walked?

You and I hide the truth of who we are. We hide from the truth that lies in our story.  We hide from the events in our lives that may have hurt us.  However, those events have shaped us into who we are today.  And if you are still standing, and able to push forward in spite of, I applaud you.  I applaud the brave parts of you that have continued to preserve in spite of the pain. I applaud you for the tenacity that you have shown by continuing to stand when you have been hurt deeply in the past.

And in that applause, I ask you one simple thing.  I ask you to share your story.  Share the very essence of who you are to the world without apology. Share the reason why you continued to stand and push forward.  Share how you have acknowledged the pain, but have also found the courage to move past that pain.

I ask that you share the truth that lies in your story.  I ask that you grab someone else’s hand and tell that person that there is no shame in their story.  Tell them that there is freedom right around the corner. Tell them that there is liberty in transparency. Tell them that there is freedom in sharing their truth.

Live in truth.  Live in freedom.
